Suicide prevention day - ekrr fc
MORE THAN FOOTBALL. EKRR FC STANDS TOGETHER ON SUICIDE PREVENTION DAY
Suicide Prevention Day matters to us because football is a community before it’s a sport. Every week, people walk through our gates carrying more than kit bags — they carry stress, pressure, grief, fear, responsibility, and sometimes things they’ve never said out loud. You don’t always see it from the outside, but it’s there. And it’s real.
At EKRR, we believe no one should face those moments alone.
Suicide Prevention Day isn’t about statistics or slogans. It’s about reminding people that connection saves lives. A conversation, a check‑in, a moment of kindness, or simply being present for someone can make a difference they never forget.
You don’t need special training to care.
You don’t need the perfect words.
You just need to show up.
Football gives people a place to belong. A routine. A reason to get out the door. A team that notices when you’re not yourself. That’s powerful.
Across our youth teams, amateur squads, and over‑35s, we see how much players support each other — on and off the pitch. The jokes, the daft moments, the shared graft, the sense of being part of something bigger… it all matters more than people realise.
If you’re finding things heavy right now, you’re not weak, you’re not a burden, and you’re not alone. Talking to someone you trust — a friend, a teammate, a coach, a family member — is a strong first step. Reaching out for support is not giving up; it’s choosing to keep going.
You don’t need to fix everything.
You don’t need to have all the answers.
Just ask how they’re doing. Listen. Stay present. Encourage them to speak to someone they trust or a professional who can help.
Small actions matter. They always have.
EKRR will continue to be a place where people are seen, supported, and welcomed. We’re not just building teams — we’re building a community where mental wellbeing is taken seriously, and where every person matters.
On Suicide Prevention Day, we’re asking everyone connected to the club — players, parents, volunteers, supporters — to look out for each other. A message. A conversation. A check‑in. It all counts.
Whether you’ve been here for years or you’ve just joined, you’re part of THE EKRR FAMILY. And your life, your wellbeing, and your future matter to us.
WE ARE THE ROLLY 🔵⚪️⚽️
