Development

This is where football starts to open up — midweek training, weekend games, and the first real taste of teamwork. Our job is to guide every child through it with confidence, patience and the same community spirit that runs through the whole club

what does this look like

After their Mini Kickers experience, our young players are ready to move into midweek training and weekend games — the stage where football starts to take shape. During these years they’ll play Fun 4’s, then 5, 7 and 9‑a‑side, building the foundations they’ll carry into competitive football

We tailor team training to suit each group, rotate players through different positions, and use game‑based scenarios, tactics boards and live demos to help every child understand what’s happening on the pitch. Fitness work — hurdles, sprints, parachute runs, ladders and more — builds stamina and confidence for matchdays

Every child develops differently, and we recognise that. Some mature faster, some take time, and all of them deserve patience, encouragement and positive reinforcement. Our coaches use premium coaching content to build skills, awareness and decision‑making, and we teach players how to “read the game” as they grow

These years come with big physical and emotional changes, and our coaches are trained to support children through all of it — calmly, positively, and with the same community spirit that runs through the whole club

By the end of this stage, they’re ready for 11‑a‑side football as they move into high school — confident, prepared, and proud of how far they’ve come
