EKRR FC
Codes of Conduct
EKRR Football Club (EKRR FC) is committed to providing a positive, safe and respectful environment for football across all of its Sections — EKRR AFC (senior amateur), EKRR Youth (youth teams and Mini-Kickers) and EKRR Over 35 (veterans). These Codes of Conduct set out the standards of behaviour expected of everyone involved with the Club, aligned to the Codes of Conduct and safeguarding standards of the relevant governing bodies. They sit alongside the Club Constitution, the Participation Agreement and the Wellbeing Policy.
This document contains three codes: one for Players, one for Officials and Coaches, and one for Parents and Guardians in the Youth Section. Players and Officials should read and sign the code that applies to them; Parents / Guardians of Youth Section players should read and sign Part C. Each Part may also be printed and signed separately.
PART A – PLAYERS’ CODE OF CONDUCT
This Code applies to all Players in EKRR FC — whether in EKRR AFC, EKRR Youth or EKRR Over 35.
As a player of EKRR FC, I will:
• Play within the Laws of the Game and respect the decisions of the match officials, even when I disagree.
• Never use offensive, insulting or abusive language, gestures or behaviour towards anyone.
• Show respect to my team-mates, opponents, match officials, coaches, committee members, parents (in the Youth Section) and supporters.
• Never engage in, encourage or tolerate violent, threatening, intimidating or discriminatory behaviour of any kind.
• Reject discrimination on grounds of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, or political or other opinion.
• Control my temper and reject gamesmanship — winning is not an excuse for poor behaviour.
• Play for the enjoyment of the game and the good of the team, not only to win.
• Take responsibility for my own actions and conduct, both on and off the pitch.
• Attend training and matches as agreed with the coaching team, and let them know in good time if I cannot attend.
• Meet my financial commitments to the Section (subs, fees and agreed contributions) on time — for Youth Section players, with my parents’ or guardians’ support.
• Look after Club and Section kit and equipment and return it in good condition when asked.
• Not bet on, or attempt to influence the outcome of, any match in which I am involved or have influence, and report any approach to do so.
• Represent EKRR FC positively at all times, including on social media and online.
• Report any concerns about welfare, conduct or safety to a coach, the relevant Welfare / Child Wellbeing & Protection Officer, or a committee member.
I understand that a breach of this Code may result in action under the Club’s Participation Agreement and Constitution, and that serious breaches may be reported to the relevant governing body or league.
Declaration: I have read, understood and agree to abide by the EKRR FC Players’ Code of Conduct.
