Welcome to EKRR FC

Member Welcome Pack & Handbook

Welcome to EKRR Football Club (EKRR FC), the community football club based in East Kilbride. Whether you’ve just joined or are back for another season, this handbook tells you how the Club runs, what we expect and where to find help. We’re glad to have you with us.

EKRR FC has three Sections and there’s a place for players of every age and stage:

•       EKRR AFC – our senior amateur men’s teams.

•       EKRR Youth – youth Teams by calendar year of birth, plus a Mini-Kickers programme for younger children.

•       EKRR Over 35 – our veterans’ team for players aged 35 and over.

About the Club

EKRR FC is an amateur football club affiliated to the relevant governing bodies through each of its Sections. We play in the Club colours (all red or all blue) and we’re proud to represent the town. Our aim is simple: competitive, well-run football played in a positive, safe and inclusive environment, from Mini-Kickers through to veterans.

Home matches: ______________________ (venue)

Fixtures and squad selection are shared through the Club’s communication channels. Let your coach know in good time if you can’t make training or a match. In the Youth Section, please also let your child’s coach know via the parent/guardian route.

Costs & Subs

Playing amateur football costs money — pitches, referees, kit, balls, league and affiliation fees, and insurance all have to be paid for. Costs vary by Section. Each Section sets its subs annually at the AGM.

•       EKRR AFC – annual / monthly subscription: £______ (payable by ______________________)

•       EKRR Youth – monthly subscription (per Team): £______ (payable by ______________________)

•       EKRR Over 35 – annual / monthly subscription: £______ (payable by ______________________)

Youth Teams may also charge small match fees and cup-tie contributions. If you or your family ever have difficulty paying, speak to your Team Treasurer or the Club Treasurer in confidence — the Club has a hardship route and would always rather keep you playing.

Kit

You’ll be issued with Club playing kit. It remains the property of the Club — please look after it and return it in good condition when asked. Wear the Club colours and display the Club logo on all relevant kit.

What We Expect

As a member you agree to abide by the Club’s rules and standards. These are set out in full in the documents below, but in short: respect everyone, give your best, meet your commitments, and represent EKRR FC positively on and off the pitch.

•       Club Constitution and Rules

•       Participation Agreement (you – and, for Youth Section players, a parent/guardian – will sign this at registration)

•       Codes of Conduct (Players, Officials & Coaches, and — in the Youth Section — Parents & Guardians)

•       Spectators’ & Supporters’ Code (displayed at the ground)

•       Wellbeing Policy & Player Guide (with adult and Youth Section sections)

•       Member Privacy Notice

•       Social Media Guidelines

Your Wellbeing

Football matters, but not as much as you do. If you’re struggling — with anything, on or off the pitch — you can talk to your Section Welfare Officer or the Club Child Wellbeing & Protection Officer in confidence. Asking for help won’t cost you your place in the squad. The Wellbeing Policy lists support services (adult and youth) you can contact day or night.

In the Youth Section, parents and guardians should feel able to raise any wellbeing or safeguarding concern with their child’s coach, the Youth Section CWPO or the Club CWPO.

Photography & Social Media

We use photos and video to promote the Club. We’ll ask for your consent (or, for under-18s, a parent/guardian’s consent) at registration and you can change your mind at any time. Full details are in the Privacy Notice, the Social Media Guidelines and Section 13 of the Constitution.

Just for the Youth Section

A few extra things Youth Section families should know:

•       Every Official at Youth training and matches has PVG clearance and is required to complete the relevant Child Wellbeing training.

•       Coaches will not routinely be one-to-one with a child, and communications with children happen via parents or guardians unless otherwise agreed with you.

•       Please tell the coach as early as possible about anything the Club should know for your child’s wellbeing (medical, learning, family or other).

•       Support your child’s Team by helping with rotas, transport, kit or fundraising where you can.

•       Read Part 2B of the Wellbeing Policy — it’s written for you and for your child.

Questions?

If anything’s unclear, ask your coach, your Section Head or any committee member — no question is a daft one. Welcome to EKRR FC, and enjoy your football.

Look after yourself. Look after each other. Enjoy the football.
